Attack-a-boogie take shape at the end of 2002, from an idea of the comedian and show-man Andrea Di Marco, who decides to set up a band, influenced by the swinging and spectacular sound of Louis Jordan and Cab Calloway, which could accompany him during his shows.
Few months later, in the summer of 2003, Attack-a-Boogie contribute to the birth of a stand up comedy and music show, together with a company of very well known artists and comedians. Among them Alessandro Conti, who become permanently the band’s voice and frontman.
Comedy Club, after a lucky season of live shows, becomes a TV show on the first Swiss national channel (TS1): Attack-a-Boogie are a centerpiece of the program, accompanying the artists during their performances e composing all the soundtracks.
Meanwhile the band starts playing permanently in the main clubs in northern Italy and performs in many concerts in all the Italian squares.
In 2007 the band records the CD “100% Pure Jumpin Jive Show’ which marks an important professional turning: they play for the maiden voyage of the cruise ship Costa Serena and a few months later, in November 2007, they are on the playbill at Monte Carlo Jazz Festival, alongside the biggest stars of the international jazz scene (Sonny Rollins, Dave Holland, Ron Carter …); the following year they take part to the Osijeck jazz festival (Croatia) and are the official band of the first edition of the international swing camp “Swing Brother Swing” in Pieve di Cento (BO), where they perform together with some great artists who truly have made the history of swing dancing (Frankie Manning, Chazz Young, Rusty Frank).
In the subsequent years, international experiences continue, including the opening of the double Tom Jones concert at the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo in August 2011 and the performance for the charity event organized by both the Prince Foundation and the Clinton Foundation, held in August 2012 at the Monte Carlo Casino, in the presence of the two presidents (the Prince Albert II of Monaco and Bill Clinton).
In recent years, Attack-a-boogie have brought their music around Europe, performing in prestigious venues in Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, England, Croatia and Russia, and have worked with important musicians, artists, comedians, actors and dancers of the national and international scene.
Among these we like to remember Enzo Jannacci, Consuelo Costin, Boris Martinovich, Peter Andreev, Andrea di Marco, Michelangelo Pulci, Alessandro Bianchi, Alessandro Bergallo, Soggetti Smarriti, Maurizio Lastrico, Daniele Raco, Gianni Ciardo, Zenaswingers, Swing Guys, Forever Dance, DJ Ivan Jive, Dr. Boogie.
